This is another great peice of usable art created by Chris Carlson. This lamp is one of a kind. The dimmer switch is the 12 gauge shotgun shell fully functionable. Horse shoe much like many other works that chris puts out is used aswell as the barbed wire. Wood is rocky mountain blue pine. Two table tops.

Wild Bunch Western Art was started by artist Chris Carlson. Every year Chris and his family hangout in their hideout near “Hole In the Wall”. As the season permits they harvest materials for each custom crafted furniture piece. The Hole in the Wall is known as the secret hideout of the famous “Butch Cassidy” who organized a group of outlaws known as the “Wild Bunch”, which included the ‘Sundance kid.”

The Wild Bunch were horse thieves, cattle rustlers, bank robbers, and train robbers. In 1901 Cassidy and Sundance, with girlfriend Etta Place, fled to New York City and then to Argentina. After several years of ranching in Argentina, Cassidy and Sundance continued there outlaw ways, robbing banks in South American countries including Argentina and Bolivia.

Each piece of furniture is branded using the cattle rustler’s favorite tool, a running iron. A running iron had a hooked tip that could be used to change or make a brand quickly. It was a handy tool for the rustlers. If a vigilante caught a rustler with a running iron in his possession this would mean certain death by hanging.

Materials for each furniture piece are collected from this historical part of Wyoming. No two pieces will be the same. Each piece has its own unique and rustic appearance.

The wood is carefully selected for use by its size, shape, and usability. Items found such as horseshoes, barbed wire and bullet casings are also used to add a final touch of the Great American West.

Each furniture piece is custom hand crafted and assembled with quality rugged craftsmanship. No nails screws are used. Each item is built so sturdy you can feel the weight (literally). A hand rubbed finish completes the beauty. Chris takes extra precautions to keep the wood from splitting.

Each piece has a solid rustic look of the Great American West and is just as wild. You’ll enjoy years of conversation with family, friends, and colleagues.
